The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation has begun its “Arts in Medicine” program with silhouette artist and CEO of HRRF Cindi Harwood Rose, who not only gifted the children at the Texas Children’s Hospital and their parents with a hand-cut silhouette, she created an art project with them. The non-profit will continue various art programs year around at hospitals to help children feel better, leaving them empowered, and giving them a gift for their room and their homes, when they get well.
Since 16, Silhouette artist Cindi Harwood (now Rose) has visited hospitals to paint murals on the walls, and to teach free art lessons to the children. The group art lessons not only decorate the room and give the family an heirloom gift; they help the children forget their pain and give hope. Other program projects include creating holiday cards, water coloring, making Easter baskets with paper plates, and origami.
The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation as part of its 2014 outreach spent the afternoon at the Texas Children’s Hospital cancer center as part of the TCH Arts for Medicine program on Wednesday, June 11th.
