Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation Announces New Executive Director Lily Paxson
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
HOUSTON, TX, August 20, 2013 – The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation (HRRF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lily Paxson as it’s new Executive Director. The HRRF is a Houston-based non-profit organization serving uninsured & under-insured men, women, and children who cannot afford reconstructive surgery after undergoing cancer treatment. Lily has been with the foundation since it’s inception, working closely with founders Dr. Franklin and Cindi Rose on every level and will continue to work with HRRF’s Board of Directors to realize their goal of helping children and adults affected by cancer.
Cindi Rose, HRRF founder and Advisory Board Chair, expressed enthusiasm for Lily’s appointment. “Inspired by my sister Holly Harwood’s battle with cancer, our goal has always been to help cancer survivors both locally and globally. Holly’s example proved that those who have goals, support, and prayer live longer, healthier lives. We are so pleased to have Lily and her years of invaluable experience with the foundation helping to increase our outreach as well as continuing to help organize our events & fundraisers while also bringing exciting new ideas to the table! We have big visions for the future of the foundation and look forward to attaining our goals through continued commitment, vision and focus.” Always aware of those in need, Cindi created the Silhouettes For Survivors program to benefit the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation.
Lily Paxson has participated in event management, public relations and business development her entire career. Her dedication and attention to detail has offered her the opportunity to work with The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Houston Polo Club, The Houston Grand Opera, The Houston Symphony, and the Cattle Barons Ball.
Lily said “I’m honored to be part of the HRRF team and am looking forward to helping to further the Foundation’s mission of helping survivors of cancer; and I am especially excited about creating and implementing the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation Scholarship Fund, currently in development, along with expanding our outreach in new ways to assist both children and adults! It is truly a privilege to work with such compassionate and committed volunteers and sponsors.”
As executive director for The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation, a 501c3 that provides free reconstructive surgery to post cancer patients who are not able to afford healthcare, she looks forward to excelling and taking the organization to the next level.
Lily has the gift of connecting and has worked closely with Texas Monthly Magazine and Modern Luxury Magazine. As acting Executive Director Lily will represent the organization with passion and integrity and open more doors for the community to understand the dynamic support that The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation offers the Houston community and beyond.
ABOUT THE HOLLY ROSE RIBBON FOUNDATION: Formed by Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Franklin Rose and silhouette artist Cindi Rose to honor and in memory of Cindi’s sister, Holly Harwood Skolkin, who battled stage 4 cancer with courage and love, The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation 501 (c) (3) (formerly named the Rose Ribbon Foundation) has helped over one hundred under and uninsured men, women and children with critical illness and cancer with by providing reconstructive surgery, wigs, permanent eyebrows, education, outreach, prevention of cancer, alternative treatments, and other means of support when requested, world-wide.
Holly’s example proved that those who have goals, support, and prayer, battle their physical health opportunity with longer lives.
